"God has not forgotten us

and there are still good people in this world."

If not for them, I would have been sent to an orphanage,” says Evelin

70-year-old Lyuben and his wife, 62-year-old Lyubka, spend their days caring for and providing for their four grandchildren.

Lyuben and Lyubka often go without so they can provide for their grandchildren. Still, there is not enough money to buy essentials such as clothes or shoes for the growing boys. Lyubka does bake bread at home, and they always try and make sure that there is enough money for the boys to have breakfast at school.

Despite these challenges, Lyuben and Lyubka dream of a better future for their grandchildren: they want to see them graduate from school, find good jobs, get married and have families of their own. They are teaching their grandchildren to be resilient and to never give up, even when times are tough.

For this special family, memories of Christmas celebrations gone by are clouded by the weeks they went without. But not last Christmas.

Thanks to an OCL box given by a generous supporter, their Christmas was filled with hope as they sat together around a table full of delicious food.

“When they saw the box, the faces of the children lit up with big smiles. When I saw the happiness in their eyes, my soul was overflowing with joy.”

Because someone like you generously gave a $50 box last Christmas, Lyuben and Lyubka had enough for their grandchildren and themselves.

It ignited something in them that day, something that made them feel like better days were around the corner.
